  1. You are grossly incorrect in your statement that Chandragupta Maurya was rules in the 4th BC. For the correct dates, you must refer to various Puranas that give out the details of the Maruya Empire from about 4500 BC till 1093 AD (Muhammad Ghori's attacks on Delhi).
Chandragupta Maurya started his reign from 1542 BCE while Chandragupta of the Gupta clan begam in 327-26 BC.
Sir William Jones, in 1794 AD, wrongly attributed the non-existent Indika by Megasthenes (it was lost few hundred years after being recorded and thereafter referred to by various Greek writers, compiled by Dr Schweppenberg much later). Jones, taking advantage of the mysterious Sandrocottus, Sandrocyptus and Xandramus, conveniently replaced the Gupta dynasty with the Maruyas; thereby, committing a complete deletion of about 1210 years of ancient Indian history of Magadha Empire.
Unfortunately, the historians today, still toe the British lines and refuse to have a re-look into the actual history, as given in our various Puranas.
If you want, I can furnish the entire list of Dynasties of the Magadha Empire from well before Barhadadra to Jarasandha, his son Sahdev of Mahabharata time, right up to Vikramaditya of Paramara dynasty of Ujjain, who took over Magadha from the last Gupta king of Magadha.
I sincerely trust, that you will do some more research in order to reach the correct ancient history.
